You should prepare for your testing using Ham Study, a free and excellent toll to prepare you for the test regardless of the level you are testing for.
Amateur Radio is an excellent hobby which gives you the ability to have communications that are not dependant on the telecommunications grid that exists today. There is a very diverse range of things to do in Ham Radio from digital modes doing keyboard to keyboard communications to high frequency voice and Slow Scan TV. There is something for everyone!
